Birding in the Central Murray

The Central Murray is a unique bird watching destination and holiday spot. The Tri-avian Corridor is a nature-based trail linking bird watching facilities in the Murray, Wakool and Balranald Shires, to protect habitat in order to promote the natural diversity of one of the world's ancient floodplains.

This region has an extensive diversity of species and is rated among the most important regions for birds in Australia. A bird watching facility has been constructed in each of these three Shires, creating the foundations for a corridor filled with nature-based attractions and unique ecosystems.

Visitors can enjoy an abundance of bird life, unique environments, accessible bird watching structures, information on birds and their habitats and favourable weather and climatic conditions.
